Fix the "audio"-add music section for published videos.

When trying to add a background music, it just mutes my narration no matter what I do and only play the music.


I found that this problem has been around for years and the solution is to make it into a new video... No YouTube! No! Why no real fix?

What do you hope YouTube would fix/do/implement?

I've never actually used this function before but that really sucks in the case of your video . They should fix this soon as it looks to be really handy

Yes, it would be handy. I found out it would work IF we used the video editor in youtube before publishing... Sigh~

For the longest time I didn't know I could download the music from the YT library and then add and edit it in Final Cut Pro. Learning that made life a lot easier.

Also websites such as "The Free Music Archive" are other places you can look for tunes to use!

That's strange, I've used the video editing tool in the creator studio before to add background music, but the sound of my dogs just being dogs stayed. The 'favour original audio' option worked perfectly fine.

I've tried it with maybe 5 other videos... All didn't work for me.

Was your video already published when you added the bg music? That's probably why or there's something we did differently.

It was already on my channel for a few weeks by the time I added the music.
