I swear a lot. Is that bad?

If that's your natural, comfortable way of speaking, I think there's a lot of value in not trying to censor yourself. You don't want to come across awkwardly because you're concentrating on "don't swear, don't swear!"

I agree with The Whole Shebang, it really depends on the context.

We have a drunk crafting show, so I don't feel like our audience is the kind to be offended by some curse words. Your audience may differ.

I just think a word is a word, I don't think there's a difference between "f**k" and "oh golly gee". If you're calling someone a name, any name that degrades, that is totally different. Unless, it's in a funny way, like a Lisa Lampanelli kind of way, then it's friggin hilarious!

I'd do it all the f*****g time. Get it?

It's okay in my opinion but I'm not a viewer so it depends on your audience. Are they kids or teens?

I don't swear a lot so I find it a bit hard to listen to when people are constantly swearing, regardless of the way they do it. I really depends on the audience; are they kids, teens, adults? Some people are okay with it and some people don't like it. As long as you aren't being insulting, I think a lot of gamers swear so I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. If you are concerned you can always warning people before you play so that they can prepare themselves for it ;)

I swear. 'Cause I do what I want. <3

I used to be like you, I used to have a problem swearing. And in my videos I would swear( not sure how often ). But now I hardly ever even swear. Since I stopped swearing I've become a better person and because of that I've earned more subscribers . Swearing makes you sound like a fool in my opinion . As someone stated above , I also too turn off a video/unsub to anyone who swears, I find it annoying, except for shofu cause he's entertaining besides the swearing and once in a while I watch his videos.

Do you really want to have a limited audience because of your content which includes swear words? Or do you your content to be rated " E " for Everyone ?

To answer both of your questions, I'm not really sure what the age group of my audience is seeing as at the moment I don't have much of a following, also I try not to be rude or demeaning to a persons religion or sexual preference, so I don't think I'm insulting to any one person(even though there are other things that might make a person feel insulted, I think I'm in the clear).

Now I won't lie, I'll sometimes be an a** to the characters in a game(example: During My DmC: Devil May Cry Let's Play, there was a character named Kat who I was particularly rude to but only because I felt she ruined the game for me) but I feel I'm never rude to the viewer.

I've already decided that I'm going to tone down my swearing, but I'm pretty sure I won't ever stop seeing as that's just how I am.

I thank you all for your feedback!

Swearing for videos is fine if that's what you want to portray. For example, for work I'm unable to swear at all, but have to make very opinionated monologues. I would suggest just doing whatever you feel comfortable with. There's no swear police on YouTube, and sometimes a more honest reaction is something people are looking for.

I'd say it depends on your demographic. If you have a younger audience that shouldn't be exposed to that then I'd say tone it back but if you have an older more mature audience then it's not as big of an issue.

So like the title says, I swear a lot. I don't get nasty with my swearing, I just say "f**k" and "s**t" a lot. Here's an example of how I swear, instead of saying "I can't see anything" I usually say "I can't f*****g see anything" or "I can't f*****g see s**t". I was wondering how you folks go about swearing and if you think I should clean it up a bit or just keep on doing what I'm doing. Also, I'm actually typing this on my phone right now because I'm at work at the moment so forgive me if I don't respond in a timely fashion and I work in a garage so the Internet is kinda poopy.

Sorry for the wall of text.
This is how I feel about this matter. To ME, when you swear all the time, you seem less refined, and less classy. I do notice it, I ACTUALLY used to judge people for it, until I grew up a bit and realized that it's just a habit for alot of people. So now you have something you need to ask yourself. On the one hand, people like me find it.... uncouth, and some may judge you for it, but on the OTHER hand, other people who swear alot (and they probably outnumber the folks like me) are going to relate to you because of it and feel like you talk the way they do. So really it's kind of apples and oranges, which crowd do you want to please? I'd say please the crowd that let's you be you. If your swearing bothers YOU, then work on it. If it doesn't bother YOU, but you are worried what others will think, don't worry about it, you have plenty, and I mean PLENTY of people who will find you easier to relate to because of it.
