I suck at talking...

I've Got It
Hey guys, so I want to start a gaming channel but I don't want to have to rely on playing with friends to make videos. see... I am not a very big talker and when I try to make gaming videos by myself and talk during them, I tend to complain about stuff and I don't post them because nobody wants to hear someone complain. so how do I find stuff to talk about and not bore the viewer when im playing a game?

Talk about things that have happened. Filling up your dogs water bowl and spill water all over yourself?! MAKE FUN OF IT, Talk about how you messed up!

Just turn average normal day things into a commentary!

I complain about a lot of s**t if the game has room for it lol Unless it's like constant complaining about too much random stuff, maybe a 1 off thing here and there. The other day I started complaining about previous co-workers and how they caused me to get the cold a year ago and how it ruined a streak I was on, wanted to go a few years in a row without it. I told my viewers that it was off topic and to suck my man parts because I was going to tell the story anyways xD It's all about how you deliver it too. You can talk about yourself every now and then just don't derail too much, it's good to have a balance of you and stuff from the game.

I don't think i've watched a gamer who doesn't complain a lot lol

The best way to keep people interested in listening to you is through telling them a story, look to working on your story telling skills and I am sure it will help a lot :)

thanks guys for the responses. I did a few tests today so im ready to make vids for real now and I realized I am better at talking than I thought. its more like responding to me dying or killing someone but hey, I'll take it. haha I will work on story telling though Michael

Just try to be yourself and do a mix between commenting on your gameplay (whats happening and going on) and tell stories and let the audience know about yourself. I was really crappy at this at first and still kind of am. I have a much easier time talking in front of the camera though, it feels really weird but do not worry too much about it, once you add in gameplay even simple stories and whatever are great.

Stories are the best way to commentate as they can be really interesting and they add variety even if you are playing a boring game.
