paint.net has a forum where some of its users make plug ins for the program i downloaded some of them one is called rays i think i use it also a lot more than i should sometimes mix it with others things like my Kdawg Tunnel effect on my own banners

I don't see any gradients
Well, in Photoshop you seem to do pretty much everything with gradients. Like that sun-ray / stripes thing I use for the thumbnails and avatar of my second channel* is done with a 2 color, top to bottom gradient and then applying 2 or 3 filters.

Do you use photoshop, if you don't use photoshop get a free trial and test it out. Photoshop is amazing for editing backgrounds and images.
If you don't know how to blur images and backgrounds using photoshop, go check out some tutorials on YouTube.

I used a red-black gradient, applied poster edges filter and then Color Halftoned pixelated it

For what channel?
For both I toke JustSomeGermanDude's advice, did a gradient and applied an effect. They both have color half tone pixelation on them, the red and black one also has poster edges while the orange/yellow one has a motion blur so the little dots look like lines
