I REALLY NEED HELP!!! How do you convert a .gif to a video file?

Ok so I want to get into simple 2D animation and I just made my first one. However the only way I could save it was as a .gif

Does anybody know how I can convert it into a YouTube friendly format?!?!?!?!?

Have you tried importing to Windows Movie Maker? I don't know if it'll work or not.

I'd be cautious though, doesn't look 100% safe.

If all else fails I imagine you could play the GIF and capture the screen as video...
