I need help about my YouTube channel

Hi, I got my monetization last week for my channel. This's the second channel of mine. But now I wanted to change this channel niche to a specific niche. I need to know if I put these videos into private mode and add new videos to the channel about my new niche is this monetization will lost or something??

Because I heard if we put our videos into private or unlisted, then we lost those public watch hours into private watch hours. is this true?

What I can do to hide this current videos and put new content to my channel without losing watch hours??

Yes, you will lose those hours unfortunately. Same thing happened to my channel.

is it preferred to hide/delete previous topic's videos? I deleted a some after switching topic & channel name but left a handful there
