I might get hate for this comment but...

tbh I think that the reason most people watch gameplays on youtube isn't necessarily to watch the game, but rather to listen to the commentary. A lot of the youtubers give advice, are funny or just generally talk about interesting things in their commentaries. I know that's why I watch the majority of commentaries that I do :) unless its some guy like 'Sandy Ravage' who does it purely on the quality of the gameplay :)
 
Let me just say, I agree wholeheartedly. I'm friends with a few game commentators and at the same time, I've unsubscribed from a few because a lot of them like to blow up your inbox every 5 minutes. " Hey man, did you like my video? " " What the ham man? I can't see you rating my video in your activity. " I can proudly say that I'm a guy who doesn't play video games! I'm glad they're everywhere, because that makes people with actual creative ability ( like most of us ) a lot less strained for new ideas and a lot more lax with our competitors. *cue end of long speech*
