The comments that grind my gears are on the big channels that wants to be 'youtube friends' and say if you'll sub to me i'll sub back.. and they've got like 3,000 - 5,000 subscribers from doing this crap.

I don't really mind these comments, even though I don't get that many. But honestly, I'd probably be more apt to check out someone's videos if they said something nice WITHOUT bringing up their channel. Really, you can spot a lazy spamming Youtuber a mile away nowadays.

I've got quite a few of those, I'll often allow them if they're blocked and then just ignore them.

The way I see it, it's an extra comment on my video and because I haven't replied it should deter more. I'm also hoping that my subscribers and viewers know how serious I am about Youtube when I don't reply to crap like that

I don't mind comments like that, sometimes they come from one of my loyal subscribers. It's short, easy, and gets the point across. The only reason I will start deleting comments is when it's someone I don't recognize, and when they start plugging their own unrelated stuff.

YouTube does a pretty good job filtering out those comments though.

Happens to me a lot. It grinds my gears especially since I'm over here tryna sweating for some recognition without pestering people. Lol
I don't know if you guys know this but you could black list their comments. Theres a setting in the Creator Studio where you can block certain comments that contain a bunch of words from appearing on your channel. So you could just type in that box

"OMG I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS CHECK ME OUT, MY VIDEOS, SUB4SUB" and all that jazz

Just anything you hate seeing on your channel and anytime someone comments Youtube automatically takes it away into hiding for you to review and approve.

I get them alot too.. sometimes theyre more subtle sometimes they're just straight up lazy.. I try to still reply to them as it looks like I care more about people commenting on my channel but I've never subbed back to someone like that!

Just part of the space sadly. Nurture the relationships you have with genuine supporters of your channel and ignore the rest.
