Wouldn't you rather them just be like "Hey I get hardly any subs and views you think you could look at my channel?" I'd still be annoyed but I wouldn't be MAD. It's so much worse when you use lies to manipulate me and these lies are meant to butter me up and make you think you like me. At that point not only do I not want to watch your channel, I want to destroy it. LOL
 
I've noticed that, I get messaged all the time from people who are like, "Love the channel. If you want to see some good comedy, subscribe to our channel at *insert link here*" And as far as I can tell, they have never subscribed or even commented on my channel. It's to the point now that I give it about as much attention as I do the rest of the spam emails I get.

1000% agree. I don't mind giving little reviews of people channels when they ask for it. But when they try to sugar coat it. My hate level just goes up and up and up.

NOW HOLD ON A MINUTE! This is why I hate this comment. For one, the game is DUST AN ELYSIAN TAIL! It's all over youtube atm. So the chances of this guy not knowing about it and finding MY VIDEO of all videos, before watching someone else is very slim. Also in the comment he says "how much he liked the video and how good it was." So why haven't you left a like or even sub to my channel? Yeah, thought so. To me, he's clearly advertising his channel. Don't get me wrong, I know how it is on youtube. You NEED to advertise. But when you go to someone else's channel, and do it there. That's when I start to not like you.

He did the same to me. he sent "I've never seen this game before. Seems like it's cool. Great video man! Come and check my videos and please leave a comment and rate so I could know what you think of them. And if you really wanna help a small channel grow - Subscribe! Keep up the good work!"
 
If we was smart, he would have left it at, "Good game! I left you a sub and a like!" AND then actually do it.

Bet there is a better chance you would have looked at his channel in a much more positive manner, even if his intention was the same.
 
I got an extremely similar comment a few days ago. On an Earthbound video:

"I really like to watch people playing old games or should I say games that are not trendy at the moment. Great video man I also laughed a lot. Definitely going to check you other videos. Come and check mine and please leave a comment and rate so I could know what you think of them. Keep up the good work!"

Same guy?
Also, I've never heard of " DUST AN ELYSIAN TAIL" either. :P
