In TV shows, they pay/get permission from copyright holders.

If you are doing a public performance (YouTube), the owners of the songs have certain legal rights. You are free to sing them in the privacy of your own home but to make them available online is an area that the owners can address.

fullscreen accepts musician who do cover songs but it requires to play the music yourself and not use a karaoke version.

^ This basically. Fullscreen has licences for a massive library of music, but not karaoke tracks so it's likely you won't get partnered with the backing track ones.
