I feel like YouTube can be pretty discouraging....

The whole deal with the big YouTubers in the past was that they started it because they just liked making videos and not because they expected anything big to happen. Sometimes you just do things for the hell of it and to improve yourself. The best you can do right now is to just lay back, not expect much and enjoy the ride.
 
I'm having trouble reading part of your original post, sorry, but the best advice I can say is that it will always feel discouraging until you "make it". But making it is never a one day event and it will always happen in steps and sometimes so gradually you won't realize what's happening until it's already happened.

I've found looking back on my life there were days where I was improving my life around me but at the time I didn't see that and thought life wasn't going to work out. I won't say a cliche like "hang in there kiddo" but really take account of what you already have and you will see how lucky you already are

Thanks i'm not giving up quiet yet 'm really passionate about YouTube I do it for my love of watching and want to create my own stuff not about getting popular but it would be nice to eventually "make it some where" like you said

i think the thing is that we see people who have "made it" and assume thats it, we don't see the journey, the struggle the highs and lows. to "make it" overnight never happens, and if it feels like it, well theres one hit wonders for a reason
 
I wouldn't bother worrying at all :) You have a great channel with great content and thumbnails so it will all come in time :) My channel is around the same size as yours so I know the feeling. Just keep making great content but make sure you are having fun at the same time :)
 
I got 1 subscriber today, (yeah it might be nothing compared to millions) but it made me happy :bounce:. The essence here is, how much value are you getting out of your channel? if you are aiming for fame and fortune, you might need a different perspective... like lets say 1 of your subscribers is a teenage girl who gets bullied at school and considers you and your videos the silver lining on her dark days.

I don't know about you, but id rather help that 1 girl than gain an additional 100,000 subs that does not mean anything to me.

just enjoy what you are doing (what's the sense of it after all if you don't) and keep improving.
 
You have summed up what we all probably thought at one point or another. And wishing that we could get that ONE break, that ONE chance where your channel really starts to grow. I was going to add my two cents, but like a lot of people here basically what I was going to say already. Continue to work hard, continue to improve, and enjoy what you have already! The YTalk community is great because it gives everyone a chance to build each other up whenever we get discouraged! This place is amazing, and you can make great connections here! All in all, things will eventually fall in place for you. Just got to enjoy the ride even though it may get bumpy at times.
 
That is the thing, most of the people that are "famous" on YouTube didn't try to be famous at all. They just posted videos they wanted to make and created a following. But one thing is for certain. If you don't get that following early on it is unlikely that you will gain it later. I take myself as an example, 3 years, 2.7K subscribers. Not a success story at all. But I don't care too much about the numbers as it is the fun I am having that counts. Being able to reply to nearly everyone that comments on my videos is pretty darn awesome.

You either got that personality that draws people in or you don't. And that is completely fine, if you can live with being at the bottom of the food chain that is. Although, if I am completely honest, my 2.7K subscribers might seem insurmountable by those that are just starting out too. I follow a channel that was below my subscriber count a week ago and now blasted past 4K subscribers today. It didn't phase me at all. They got the goods, I don't. And I knew that from the first few months in that I didn't have it. I told them they would hit 10K subscribers in no time. And I am going to be right. A month from now I reckon!

I just do it for fun. Could I do it for a job? Absolutely... if I could review cars from car enthusiasts for the rest of my life, build a classic car as my channel mascot and interact with everything and everyone car related and get paid for it? Oh heck yes. So much yes. But, it's not in the cards, and will likely never be. It's good to dream, but don't make those dreams drag you down. Reality sucks, but you better embrace it early on.
