I don't understand reddit.

I've Got It
Seriously. If you know anything about promoting videos on reddit, you have to follow the 10% rule. 10% of submission can be your own work. And they have to be link submissions, not comments.

So... that would mean that promoting your own videos that you have worked hard on and posting in relevant subreddits gets looked down upon/removed/even shadowbanned if you're unlucky, but posting OTHER people's work doesn't have any repercussions?

I get why they do this. Stopping spam and all that. But if you want to post your own s**t you have to post other peoples s**t but the stuff worth posting everyone else is racing to do it. So you either make 1000 pointless reposts that have already been made, or be respectful and do nothing, which punishes you harder.

What the hell am I missing here?

I honestly don't even get reddit at all. like the layout of it to me is so ugly and i tried to use it the otherday and i as soon as i saw layout i was off of that website within a few seconds
Same happened to me the first time I used the site xD I eventually went back and forced myself to use it. It's pretty addicting once you get the hang of it :x 10/10 Would get addicted again

my think is i have no clue where to start... Its just a huge mess on a website and have no clue what i am doing LOL

Lol just use it, don't post. Read and navigate, find your way around. Read the side bar. You'll get the hang if it

Reddit is like a 1980's bulletin board that's come back to life. I dunno how we got to this point, but apparently the internet is in agreement that Reddit is a thing. So as far as promotion goes, you're somewhat obligated to participate. Other than that I am in complete agreement that Reddit is s**t and I don't get it either.

Reddit is awesome, it could give you an huge injection of viewers traffic

If you solved the mystery of using Reddit....

I had a lot of upvotes on my fanart in the undertake subreddit, linking my tumblr posts. But for my majn youtube content the Pokemon subreddit is pretty hostile. I got rejected from posting my Pokemon animation because it was self promotion, yet they love fanart, I honestly consider animation fanart.... But whatever, so I try to make different posts, and that one got taken down because it was deemed 'uninteresting' despite having 40 upvores and 20 comments or so.

I feel like giving up, but last times people shared my animations there I got a ton of support and views, I just wanted to be able to see and reply to those really nice comments I got there, but seems the mods really don't want me there lol
