Keep your existing channel. Start another one and have Fullscreen link it to your first one as a re-direct so you can call it whatever you want and have it link to your existing one-that way you won't have to lose subscribers or views.

You start another channel with the name you want, but whenever someone types that in, it redirects to the original channel. That way you can use the new name and change branding without losing subs/views.

It's somewhat awkward to remember, so they started this channel: http://www.youtube.com/challenge

Both have separate URLs, but the link to the same channel. The first one is the official channel name. You need to own both accounts to make this happen.

I am seriously considering starting all over, but I don't want to lose my subs.

I love your channel name personally. It's a new spin on the "awesome" thing. Instead of just being like "the awesomeness" or "Awesome party" or something, you're the "awesome pit" it's like a place you fall into and get trapped by the awesome. It was one of the things that first caught my attention about your channel.
