Well, first, congratulations on hitting 200 subs! Second, I'm sorry that she seems to view your excitement for other things as a blow against your enthusiasm for your home life, that seems really unfair.

But hey, you can talk to us about things, for sure! We'll support your tubery habits!
 
Nice the big 200! My family are not just unsportive, some are aggressively trying to shut me up. The joys or being in a conservative group of people!
I think a big part of it is not understanding what exactly YouTube is. Most see me as wasting time while I see it as building a brand around myself and eventually one day support myself in this endeavor. Have you tried explained why you are doing what you are doing and getting her to see things from your perspective?
 
I believe that the entire reason this happens is because of a lack of understanding of what having a channel is like and the pleasure you get from a sub, like, or even a view. I believe the majority of people who dont actually use Youtube on a daily basis feel as though it is mostly a waste of time. They also have no idea that some people actually make a living off of it.( you should not go into Youtube to make money obviously though it is more of a plus to doing something you legitimately enjoy) I had similar problems with my family as they did not understand why I started streaming and making videos, after a very long time of me trying to explain it to them it finally paid off however. Always be positive and optimistic, it helps A LOT!! :3 I wish you the best of luck ^.^
 
Thank god I am blessed with a girlfriend who totally tolerates my craziness. But is your wife probably a bit right? Has she maybe waited for you while you were editing because you thought she was already asleep? Did you have a talk to her about which degree of YouTube she can accept?
 
you say that you put family first but her response tells you that she doesn't agree. the reason why she thinks that is what you have to find out and try to find a solution that works for both of you or it will explode on you sooner or later.
