I can't record Online Play with my Wii U

So recently I tried to record some Mario Kart 8 matches online, but if I'm recording it won't connect me to the internet. If I am already connected and try to record, it will just kick me out. And the thing is, this only happens with the Wii U. When I wanted to record something online with my PlayStation 3, I could do it very easily. Another thing is that my connection normally is perfect, full bars. Maybe it's because I am doing a wireless connection, or maybe it's the capture card, or maybe it's just the Wii U, I have no idea. All I know is that other people can easily do it and I can't.

I would like to fix this problem, and if anyone has any solutions that would be appreciated.

It shouldn't have that.
I've been recording it since 2012 with no problems whatsoever.

I know that Netflix has a block, though. Because if I have my capture card plugged in while I'm on Netflix, the TV screen will turn black.
 
I am using a Hauppauge HDPVR2, and my setup is that my laptop is a couple of feet away from my TV, with the capture card plugged in.

Also, what is HDCP?

What kind of capture card do you use? I think that might be it.
