I am with Scalelab! here's the inside scoop

Hi all,

So I've seen many people asking about Scalelab but haven't seen anyone who is with them so thought I would help as I am actually with them. Quite simply you all seem right about them. Most of the other channels seem to be below 100 subs, the threshold is $100 and what they provide is minimal. The assistance is minimal and I think the e-mail below sums up what I think to be honest. The email was sent after seeing the network seemingly doing nothing. The man I reference, Calam Cadman, sent me a personal e-mail a week ago and he is the "Director of channel support"

"I commented in a forum about a week ago asking if people had seen success using Scalelab, to which Scalelab clearly took offense to as they immediately emailed me (it was Colin Cadman who got in touch) and answered some questions but in a typical politicians way of actually not giving any answers. I was then asked about channel optimization notes to which they were described as "first building block of increasing your audience" and was told "If you haven't received that report, I can send your info over to our development team ASAP"... That was now 7 days ago.

So far all I have seen is tools that Youtube already provide (and they actually provide more) and a community that isn't as large or as comprehensive as YtTalk (to which there are many threads regarding Scalelab).

I have had minimal contact and am struggling to see what I get from handing over a % of my ad revenue which in all fairness isn't really the point as I barely make any money as it is. (This being a topic hotly debated about the Scalelab network and whether they prey on small channels hoping they don't reach the minimum payout threshold)

So quite simply, in one short sentence, what do you do and what do I get

This looks, and maybe reads, like a rant but it's not, I just simply can't see what the network really does.

Thanks for reading this and I look forward to a response"

I hope this gives people an idea of the company

Have a good day

One thing I found surprising is that it really does look like they look for channels in the aims of never paying out.

Fullscreen & MakerGen both have high enough payout thresholds but both their agreements state that any owned revenues will be paid out at the end of the agreement's term regardless of whether they have reached the threshold). (So you would still get paid out even if you only earned $10 etc but I'd say this money gets put into a high-interest rate account for the 1-2 years, making revenue for them that way)

Scalelab's agreement has nothing of the sort, now they could have just forgotten to put that in and still do the same as the above networks but it is worrying.

A quick update, they still haven't contacted me regarding the e-mail or any of my previous contact. They did however retweet my video today, to an audience that is a fifth of the one I already have lol

I'm in with ScaleLabs as well and this is what they sent me. (from Colin)

Hi Kazuki,

YouTube takes a 50% cut off all revenue generated by channels.

In regards to the assistance we provide, our channel development team takes a very hands-on approach towards increasing your viewership on YouTube. We'll work with you one-on-one to optimize your metadata, cross-promote your content and devise a brand sales strategy.

That way, we'll help increase your exposure on YouTube as well as other social media platforms. We'll also place higher-paying ads on your content so that your channel generates higher levels of revenue.

The communities revamp is a major shift, but we haven't run into any roadblocks. It's just a large task that requires a lot of focus and energy. However, we are working as fast and efficient as possible to get them up and running.

Best,
Colin[DOUBLEPOST=1418482065,1418482014][/DOUBLEPOST]This was the other email that was set as well...

You can always email me with any questions or concerns. However, our support staff also has a direct email address that you can contact. You can message them using the address below:

As for now, I'll forward your information over to our channel development team. They'll take an in-depth look at your content and report back with detailed optimization notes. We consider this the foundation of building a sustainable YouTube audience.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me anytime. I'm always here to help!

Best,
Colin

If they legitimately sent that, they're wrong, YouTube takes a 45% cut of your earnings...
