He's saying that HE would rather be successful...it's about opinion. I think with success comes fame

In video making I would rather be successful, because you never really know the guy who makes the music video, you know the artist IN the music video, but that's not saying the guy who makes it isn't successful or unimportant
 
Being famous would suck. No one would know your real personality. They would only have the assumption that you're snobbish due to your fame in life.

Kidding. Rebecca Black has some pretty decent songs. Unfortunately, this one isn't her best.
