Huge Music Question (Fullscreen)

Hello everyone... I have a very, very important question please:

Does anyone know, if you leave a network (in this case Fullscreen), does the music you used while with the network still valid / legal on all those old videos?

This is so important because I have heard 2 sides of the story:
1. People said once you leave it is no longer safe to use and that you will have to audio swap, remove the audio, or not monetize the videos.

2. I also heard and was stated from the staff at Fullscreen that it doesn't effect your old videos, but you can not use it in any new ones. ( Attached is the screen cap of this information)

Please HELP. I want to be 100 percent sure. Thanks everyone!!

P.S. - if possible please, please share a link to free music it is ok to use on youtube. ( or cheap music to buy)

I asked Fullscreen this once and I was told the music is fine in the videos up to the date you leave, as long as you don't continue using the music after in new videos it is fine as the license is in perpetuity. Incompetech.com has some great music.

I've heard the same thing about the Fullscreen music. However I do still have one concern. They have yet to make public a copy of their music license to partners, so there's no way of knowing other than what some support tech says, which won't help you if the music company claims the content later. I'd push to see the license or get something more official in writing from Fullscreen about it.

Thanks very much for the reply and response: I luckily got an official email from AudioMicro themselves saying that any old videos will remain safe / legal that I used their music with while with Fullscreen.

I also got the same positive message from a Fullscreen Staff member.

I am saving both of these official writings and messages. Need to be 100% safe with this. Thanks again everyone (:

Hmm.. I have heard the opposite from a Fullscreen staff member in the past. Austin from Fullscreen used to post on this forum and he said you will get a third party match on a video containing audiomicro music if you leave Fullscreen and would have to remove it. I also heard a story from someone that left Fullscreen saying that he instantly got a third party match on his video containing audiomicro music as soon as he was released from Fullscreen.

However, if Audiomicro, themselves, told you that it will be safe, I would listen to them, but like you said, there is a lot of conflicting stories out there. Just have the evidence with you if necessary and also be prepared to buy a license if necessary.

Pheeww, I see what u all mean too about that...after reading all that too it still leads me with some serious doubts if it is going to protect my videos if I leave. I appreciate ur feedback. Do u have any suggestions or things of what to do?

For now on I am using Incomptech to play it safe. I used them for my latest video. I am considering just staying with the network depending if I can negotiate the new contract. Thanks again everyone.

Pheonixblue: Do u know when this was that person left FS and had that happen to them? Also, do u know if in their videos they gave credit to AudioMicro in the description? This is something I was unaware of and read that it is kind of a necessity to put where music was obtained.

I will try to find the thread tomorrow where that person posted but it was in a random Fullscreen thread a long time ago and I might not be able to find it. :/

Thanks a ton for your help! I appreciate all of ur help a lot.... I might honestly to play it safe stay with the network, and maybe see if can negotiate a higher split on new contract. It is just that I don't want to bother with this risk.

Hey. Sorry, I couldn't find that post with that person but I found the post with Austin's conflicting response about the music: yttalk.com/threads/what-are-fullscreen-disadvantages.54333/page-3

As for whether to stay with Fullscreen or not because of this, Fullscreen has been known to have low CPMs/split. You could be making much more money in other networks that could make up for any potential losses due to having to purchase audiomicro licenses. Showing youtube proof of license can remonetize your videos (but I don't know how quickly) without the likelihood of receiving any strikes. Of course, the decision is up to you. If you like Fullscreen, then you can just stay. But yes, if you stay you should definitely renegotiate on your new contract.

How would I show youtube proof of license to remonetize those please? And do you know of any other networks that might have a higher cpm or split?

I appreciate all your information and help greatly. Thank you so much for this, it helps me a lot because I am still learning about all this.
