Hey guy and gals,

So yesterday i uploaded my first ever video to the channel and would really love some feedback from you guys, as honest and as brutal as you want because all feedback is good feedback to me :)

Any helpful tips, hints and suggestions, just to let you know aswell i do have a intro and outro on the way as of future episodes and also im currently working on a new header and avatar for the channel as i feel the current isn't to my kind of standard i would like

I don't mean to be rude man, but refreshing your videos doesn't do much for you, keep your views real so you know what people like or don't like. Sure it takes time to get lots of views, but you have to start legit or you won't grow
 
ey? i haven't hit refresh, i went to bed last night at 20 views woke up and was at 150, i was excited by that haha, i appreciate you've taken a look and thank you for that man but im full on legit, im not one to bumb my views, does nothing for me in the long run by doing that.
 
go to your video and press statistics, only 29 views are from different IP addresses, maybe you didn't refresh spam the video, but it looks as someone did
 
Oh really? as you can tell im new to this haha, that's a real shame and disappointing, i honestly am legit and would do something stupid like that, i'll ask a few friends who watch and see if they did it, other than that, any feedback for the actual video?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I'm just trying to help out all the new people to the community :)
 
Sure, I'll go through some criticisms for ya.

You were silent for a long time, over a minute. I skipped ahead just to make sure that you talked. I'm guessing you were just replaying the intro for people who hadn't seen it, but you shoulda been talking over it, even if it wasn't from the playthrough you were doing.
Then again, guessing that you considered that but realized you already did your "hey guys I'm me" intro once the game actually started, so you weren't sure what to say for the plane crash cinematic.

Anyway, point is, the intro silence of Forest Ep. 1 is pretty conspicuous and it's important to establish yourself as a personality really quickly.

I know editing gaming videos is tedious, but certainly you should consider editing down repetitive sequences when they come up (collecting logs back and forth, that sort of thing). Obviously not necessary, and many gaming channels don't edit out things, but it's a thing that I personally as a viewer prefer. It just makes it too easy to make the video fade into background if new things aren't happening.

Introduce the game itself a bit more... start off with the things like "this is The Forest by this company, it's an alpha build with some funny glitches", that sort of thing.

You're exactly right, that's what I did with my Forest series, and it pretty applies for every game you do, just cut out the boring and leave in the best moments and story related moments as well
