How's my editing?

I've re-worked my videos a bit, and decided to focus more on editing than I have in the past.

It's taken a long time to edit this one together, and I'd like to hear your opinions, positive and negative

Thanks

I think your editing is strong. The content alone wouldn't have kept my attention (because I'm a lazy thinker), but the active editing style and pace held me. There were components that weren't my favorite, but I offer no critique, because it's just a taste thing. I thought the smiley faces that popped up and filled the screen seemed weak compared to the quality of everything else. It's a strong edit and I liked the video.

The editing is AMAZING! It's what really makes me want to keep watching it. The only thing I can really say anything about this video is that it seems a bit slow paced which made me lose attention at some points, but I think it's because you're making this video for educational purposes (I'm guessing) and I always fall asleep in class so yea :P. However, this video was way more interesting than any of my classes at school and I probably learned more from this video than my normal 6 hour school day so great job! Best of luck to your channel :D

You're totally right, it was a quick 20 second photoshop job and in hindsight I should've spent a bit more time on it to make it up to the same standard as the rest, but thanks for the kind words otherwise!

Would you mind giving me an example? It's made for educational purposes but it's still made to be entertaining, so any improvements I can make there would be much appreciated! Thanks very much for the feedback :)

Oh no it is very interesting! I just felt like you sound a lot like most of my teachers sound like. Slow but informative and I think that's how you should keep it, I only lost focus because I'm not good at staying focused in slow paced lectures/videos. I like things fast paced, but a lot more people like it slow so keep doing what your doing :D.

Where'd you learn to edit by the way? I'm trying to pick up some skills to make our videos better.

Nowhere specific really, I've just done YouTube on and off for over 7 years, so with each channel I've had my skills improved. I did look at a few Sony Vegas tutorials when I first started, just to get the basics down, and since then I've spent a lot of time playing around with it myself, to see what I like and what I don't.

Very good stuff! I agree that there's a bit of a determent between the quality of certain portions versus others, but I know that making things in After Effects can be very time-consuming and taxing, so I don't fault you for it.

Overall, the quality of the video is very professional, you have a great speaking voice for the type of video this is, and I really enjoyed the facts and learned some new stuff! Keep up the good work, man!

Thanks very much! I'm spending even more time editing my next episode to hopefully keep the quality uniform throughout the whole video
