How YouTube Copyright Really Works (Gaming)

According to the supreme court the deals the companies I mentioned are licensing deals. The supreme court says it's not copyright infringement because they are getting paid a license fee. The companies I mentioned even told me this doesn't count as copyright infringement of you use an audio recording or straight cover. You just can't always do mashups etc. I've heard the same thing from copyright laywers. One lawyer provided me with an official YouTube License contract that states these companies promise not to sue anyone if they follow the guidelines.

So I think many people here are dead wrong when they think it's against copyright. I even spoke to the vice president of these companies and was told what I'm doing by uploading songs or covers is not illegal as long as I don't monetize it (unless YouTube provides Revenue Sharing) These vice presidents would not steer me wrong. I've never had a problem. I've followed their guidelines of emailing them the URL and they've claimed it and never blocked a single thing or took anything down.
I thank you for posting this and I went to Law school so from sitting in court and learning about copyright notices in the UK I know enough I think anyway about EU legislation. I now understand what you mean I thought you were saying that anyone can upload any music covers or just uploading someone's music creation that does not belong to you without harm. Authorization is always the biggest thing that ends up having people's video taken down or just people not following rules. Of course people have to follow the guidelines that why there are posts around that try to help people with this matter. I mostly try to handle gaming copyright notices but I don't bother with music so much which is why I don't mention music so much in the post an also because I don't feel that I am well versed enough to talk about it.

AHH you are in the UK? Then maybe copyright is different there? I'm in the USA so maybe the license deals only apply for certain countries. Not sure on that

It's pretty similar though tbh man with the two countries. I kinda go by the general rule of having permission for any content from the gaming company (which they mostly state on their websites what is allowed to be monetized) or having it abide by YouTube's fair use rule so it doesn't get blocked in other countries for breaching their laws just to be safe since you can't go wrong this way and get a copyright notice.

As I said a Copyright Notice is not wrong. YouTube states a notice is just simply a form to allow the copyright owner to monetize. A claim is fine. A strike is not.

Yh dude I totally get that am not saying its wrong lol I just don't want a copyright notice since the partnership I want to partner up with doesn't let you partner with them if you have a copyright notice >< A lot of small gaming partnerships are the same which is why I don't recommend it to gaming YouTubers otherwise they risk the chance of partnering up if they plan to since they want to make money from your videos and not let other companies take it from them.
