I recently sold my old car and i really don't have anything useful to put the cash into, how would you guys have spent $1000 on you'r channel? To get it even better! Like new / better equipment, or ads or whatever? I really want to "invest" insted of just waste them on random stuff i really don't need :p

Id say I would buy a better camera but in some ways that would be wasteful as the one I have performs well, I am just picky. I think I would get the Zoom H4N as thats on my wish list at the moment. I couldnt spend it all to be honest. Theres too much I could get but a lot of would seem wasteful.

I would probably buy a new PC, as it benefits my channel but if my channel fails the PC is still very useful to me.

I have a decent camera so I would buy a tripod only.

The rest 950USD I would probably use on facebook/youtube ads.

I'd buy a new camera definitely, probably a new tripod as well. Then I'd upgrade my computer a little bit to make editing easier, and the rest I'd just save for whatever comes up haha :)

Probably buy a really nice camera. Although i already have a camera i love so for me personally i would invest it in a nice background and better lighting.

Personally, a new camera is the top of my list and finding a good microphone but of course, your channel may be completely different :)

Probably only'd do it in only 2 cases
  • If I'm sure the money is going to come back in reasonable time (for example, if I have a lots of subscribers and I get a lot of view, and alos have somewhat stable average CPM, and monthly payment from YouTube
  • Or, if I it would not make the expected results, then I could still use it for an other useful purpose.
(an example of this is like a new PC)
But probably a new mic, arm-in, pop-filter and stuff, some PC upgrades, a green screen, third monitor, more consoles would be an investment if I really had to spend 1000$. :D

I don't know if you're looking for advice that can be applied specifically to your channel.

For my channel though I would hire some friends to do some low cost modular set design. Possibly make some monetary offers to people in my same genre to do some collabs and such.
