How/Where to promote my channel without looking desperate?

AmberAndGolden

I Love YTtalk
I really really hate those comments like
'I'm a new youtuber and I'd love for you to check out my channel and subscribe! :) Thanks!'
just... kind of grinds my gears, Not sure why.. So I'd never be able to just post that on videos..
where else can I promote my channel? and how can I do it?

I feel like my channel is super small (kind of small, anyway) because I don't and kind of cant promote my channel anywhere

halp

You have 300+ subs, which is not really a small channel. I think you should interact with other VLOGGERS, make connections with the Youtubers of your niche, you guys might end up growing together to 1000 subs. You can also make social media pages, promote your videos on Facebook groups, collab with other YouTubers, give someone shoutout and be in someone's shoutout.

I have most social media, I'm just not very good at them haha, I don't have a good phone camera for instagram and I only have internet at home so tweeting all day long is something I can't do
I'll have a look into some facebook groups though, Maybe I can promote there!

It is really hard to reach out to other people that might like your content.

Best advice is to use the right keywords, post your videos on your social media, and maybe collab although I don't recommend unless you guys are friends and it's not mostly for channel growth.

I see that you're an artist, and a very talented one at that! Your style is one of the cutest I've seen; I'd kill to have talent like that.

Might I suggest doing some fan art of people you admire? If they're larger YouTubers, you can share your work with them and you might even get a share out of it! I've found a lot of artists on Twitter this way - in fact, one of them I've very recently commissioned to draw me a new avatar!

Share your work on Twitter, tag whoever it's of and you can seriously improve your reach that way. DeviantART is amazing, too - I share my photography on there and it's gone down really well. Then once your following starts to grow and your work proves more popular, you can link to speed paints and your other videos and that's where your traffic will come in handy.

Vlogs and beauty hauls are harder to promote with just a thumbnail, especially if people don't really know who you are. But art is a visual medium and people can tell if they like something or not usually by looking at it once, so I'd seriously consider sharing more of your gift with the world as there is a huge market out there for it.

The key I think even I need to work on is making real life connections. People are more likely to watch if they already know you, and that's the setup.

Aw thank you so much haha!
Yeah, I wasn't originally going to speedpaint it, but I recently drew a YouTuber so.. Maybe I SHOULD speedpaint it and share it, see who cares haha!
I think thats a good way of doing things actually, I moved my speedpaints to another channel because I felt like my channel was all over the place, and plus, I only ever did digital speedpaints which seem waaay too impersonal for my channel, and I think watercolour speedpaints might be better all in all.. Maybe I will do art of followers if people actually want that haha

Thank you for the feedback! very helpful!! :D[DOUBLEPOST=1456010769,1456010728][/DOUBLEPOST]

Nah, its hard to make friends with other YouTubers, but people you already know (although I know that showing your channel to people you know well already can feel challenging) because they become active viewers and have an urge to watch your videos, maybe they might even want to make their own! But yeah, real life can be a lot harder than on the Internet, but I think it's more effective.

I've told a few of my friends/family and out of like.. 7 of them, only one of them actually cares haha.. Nobody else even cares about it!
We shall see though! I might start sharing my videos on facebook if i get a bigger following... I feel like it would look more ... socially acceptable haha, as bad as that sounds.. If i share a channel that as 300 subs vs a channel that has 20k subs, it would seem more like I'm doing something....
But at that point I wouldn't need to share it, i don't know aha
But yeah!
