How to split videos in Sony Vegas?

I don't mean the S button.
I mean like... in Photoshop... You can like mark a part of an image and choose layer via cut.
I want something similair like that.

Does Sony Vegas have that?

I'm not fully sure, but i think you talk about using mask option to have part of the video visible/hidden. This is accessed from square icon on the end of the track. If i'm wrong of what you need maybe possible to show in picture or example?

Like in this video.
The item tab at the top right is actually part of the lower screen of the 3DS, but she has cut it out of the lower screen and glued it into the top screen.

It's just scaled down and moved up to the top corner with a mask applied to it.

I think in Sony Vegas you just need to right click on the clip and select "Video event crop pan" or something.

The thing is that I can choose to record both screens at once, or the top OR the bottom screen.
So I was like wondering if it was possible if I recorded both screens at once (meaning they will be in one video file), if it was possible to cut it in half, so the top and bottom screen where independent files?

It lagged a bit when I used OBS for both screens individually. But I have no lag if I use the built in capturing software, or use fraps or something. (But fraps can't record several screens at once)

Wish it was as easy as in photoshop, where you can layer stuff easily by cutting things out

You're gonna have to find recording software that can handle capping two screens at once

I could use OBS, but it has random lag from now and then.
Seems to be more suited for streams than recording.

Wait... I'm dumb...

I can just record the top screen with fraps, and use the inbuilt caputre software to record bottom only!
Problem solved! (Or at least I hope)
