How to Save IMOVIE Timeline??

Hey guys, so i am making the leap from IMOVIE to Final Cut Pro.
I want to delete my Imovie, but if i do that i am afraid it will delete all my old time lines. I saved my old movies, but if i ever decide to reinstall imovie i would want my timeline to appear (mostly so i can show my friends the videos on youtube then show them how they are put together in imovie. I plan on teaching a few of them how to get going with imovie since thats what i started with). What should i Do?
 
ok, I have like 10 movies on there that take up quite a bit of space on my harddrive. Is there anyway i can compress them or something to save on the storage?
I know Final Cut has a way to save the timelines onto a hard drive, does Imovie have something like that?
 
In your 'iMovie Projects' folder, all of your timelines are saved there automatically. I would save both the 'iMovie Projects' and 'iMovie Events' folders just to be safe.
