How to Request Standard In-Stream Ads for Your YouTube Channel

YouTube has just recently allowed YouTube Partners to request access to the standard in-stream ad format which was previously strictly limited to legacy partners and partners of an MCN (Multi-Channel Network).

You can now simply submit your YouTube Channel for staff to review and they will "process" it within a week (so they say). If you've been approved, you'll see the ad format under Monetization like this:

To apply for access, visit: http://bit.ly/15OxK4l
*This form doesn't apply to partners of an MCN or legacy partners as you should already have access to this ad format by default.

Hope this helps some people and good luck!

Good to know, but partners with a network already have that function so I don't have to use it. But good to know for people that use Adsense.

Very informative information glad i already have this feature enabled since i am not a fullscreen partner:p Thanks for the info i sense a intresting video being released soon on my end about this maybe so maybe not!

What is the difference between TrueView in-stream and Standard in-stream? Ads noob here

Check the link in my OP for a link to an article about it.

How are non-skippable in-stream ads different than TrueView in-stream ads?

If a non-skippable in-stream ad appears before a video, the viewer must watch the ad in full before the video will play. With TrueView in-stream ads, viewers have the option watch the ad in full or to skip the ad after viewing it for 5 seconds. Both in-stream ad formats may generate higher CPMs than other ad formats on YouTube, but non-skippable in-stream ads have higher video abandonment rates than skippable TrueView in-stream ads.

I see. Thanks for info.
Kinda awkward to put non-skippable ads, especially 30sec ones. 5sec is already a long wait
