How to Promote on Facebook?

Hey guys! I've seen a few creators around the forum that have mentioned that they've had luck using Facebook to promote their videos. I have a fan page but that's it and I hardly ever get engagement with the exception of a few people I know irl. I've heard that uploading directly to Facebook gets a video way more engagement but I'm not sure if that actually helps seeing as the views wont count toward my channel stats.
Also, I've read that joining groups and posting there is a good way to go but I have no idea which groups to join and how to go about promoting my channel without being spammy.

So some questions:
What FB groups do you get the most engagement from?
What is your strategy for posting on FB groups?
Is it worth uploading your video directly to FB instead of linking from YouTube?
Have you seen an increase in both views and subscribers from using FB?

I don't have as facebook fan page, but I randomly go into groups and promote my video there. Depending on what my video is about that's the group I go to. For example, if I did a video about nail tutorial then i will search for groups related to nails. I don't get that many views though from doing that, maybe maximum 10 views?
 
I have a Facebook page and do often upload directly to it as well as linking from YouTube. I tend to get a lot more engagement on the videos that I upload directly to Facebook, and I think its a good idea because its likely to get you more likes on your Facebook page.

Its up to you really!

I never upload directly to Facebook, I embed my Youtube videos. I get the most of my views from sharing with popular pages and then they embed to their site and post to Facebook. I get a ton of views but not subscribers most of the time. You just need to find groups and pages that relate to what you are trying to share.
 
A lot of dedicated FB groups are full of spam. But you can try to find people with related interests and just start chatting with them. Comment on their comments. Give them a value like: laugh, smile, answer to their questions etc.
 
I post on my Facebook fan page, share it on my personal Facebook timeline, and post the link in two baking groups that I'm part of. I don't get a ton of views from Facebook but I do get some and have picked up some subs as well.

I don't just post the link though. I usually write what the video is about and give them a reason to watch it. When you upload a Youtube link to FB, your thumbnail picture is small and the start arrow is in the middle of it. So what I do is upload the photo that I use for my Youtube thumbnail first and then add the link to my video in the description. I also added a teaser for next weeks video. This morning I just uploaded a Brownie Brittle video. I attached a screen cap of it so you can see what I'm talking about.

I find that personal posts don't do much. I think it really comes down to the content we produce.

For instance, I recreate Movie Trailers and Famous Scenes out of nothing but paper. From the content alone other facebook groups pick it up and post on their own facebook page. I just had the official ASH vs EVIL DEAD facebook page post my PAPER ASH vs EVIL DEAD teaser on their page and I had about 8k+ views yesterday from that post alone.

I don't really spend too much time posting anything on facebook except some behind the scenes pictures of the new paper video I'm working on. Once I post the video, I find that people out there find it and post it on their own. In my opinion, more focus on putting out awesome content instead of where to post. I'm fairly new to YT but from 3 videos alone I have over 70k views. Not bad from starting out a little over a month ago with 0 subscribers!

Don't. FB fans almost never click ANY links whatsoever and it ends up damaging whatever facebook page you use.

TRUST ME, I was an admin at a page with over 400,000 fans for a while. ITS TERRIBLE. Youre better off working hard on the channel and finding a niche that works for you.
