How to promote a live stream?

I was wondering how can I get people to actually come and watch my livestream? Is there any way I can promote it?
 
Well, thanks to mine and a few other people's suggestions, there's now a Livestream Sub-Topic in the Videos, Channels, Milestones etc Board. Also, use your channel to promote, and also messaging your subs could work :)

try promoting it on facebook, twitter, and also on this site :P you could also make a video on youtube telling your subs when to tune in for the live show :)
 
I guess you can promote a livestream just like you promote videos.. Through Facebook, twitter, youtube, forums, tumblr and all that.
 
For Starters, You could leave a link of your live stream in your signature. If your youtube channel is doing successful you could do a short mini trailer for your stream, talk about what you are gonna do, and why they should tune in. And obviously social websites already mentioned above me.

A quick tip that I noticed kinda works is have a friendly stream title, so lets say you are playing minecraft, you could a title for example, "Minecraft Survival! Come hangout and chat:)" Something like this will make you friendly and draw a few views to your stream. Always be welcoming and friendly to the stream and interacting with your audience and you will get more followers :)
