So..

okay, I have 2 videos on one of my channels.

Video 1: has 38,000 views and made $28 in it's lifetime (11 minutes long 241 likes 14 dislikes )
Video 2: has 33,000 views and made $190 in it's lifetime ( 14 minutes long 200 likes 10 dislikes )

Both roughly the same age probably a little over a year.

Both have loads of comments. Now what is making one earn more than the other. The keywords?

Is there a method to the madness?

Moved this here for you, please double check where you are posting before post as the section this was posted under is for articles and resources, not asking questions :)

I'm sorry but this comment is because I want to know when some one adds to what you said, it sounds quite bisar. Maybe on one more people clicked on the advert?

It could be many reasons. My guess is one of the videos is more suitable for users in a different country therefore they have been watching it, revenue changes depending on the location of the audience. Another factor could be that the 14minute one is infact displaying more advertisements than the 11minute one due to the duration, depending on the length you can have midroll ads in your videos which display advertisements say half way through.

I don't think anybody can tell you for sure what is the reason but the key most probably is in the metadata (title, description, keywords). One of the them is obviously significantly more advertisers friendly than the other (more advertisers are trying to post their ads on it).

Yes, this is what I'm thinking as well.

I just looked and the one did have a midroll ad as well. I'm sure thought tags have something to do with it as well after looking at big differences in videos.

Sometimes you get an insane RPM. If you have people watching your ads at that time you will be raking in the cash. I get these weird spikes from time to time, and found out that is what it was. Views where not different, clicks where not different, it was just the RPM at that time that bumped my earnings.

Still $190 for one video? Very slick, I have yet to break $10 with one of mine!
