How to make a good vlog?

I believe a good vlog should tell a story. It should make your viewer wonder "what's going to happen next?".

I don't like vlogs where all you see is a compilation of complatelly random scenes.

Maybe just take some inspiration of how others have their set up and how they edit etc. Are you on about Daily Vlogging or just plain old sitting infront of a camera taking about something? For both I'd say you should find your own style and feel, doesn't matter if it's not the conventional way of doing things, it will be your style.

To keep a viewer, you need to be confident, cut all your ums and ers out, have nothing in it that isn't needed, even if it's just like 2 seconds of silence, it's not needed. Own the screen. Its your stage, and luckily for you, you don't have to see the audience, so you can't get stage fright. You make the vlog what you want it to be, if you're not confident enough to try and grab the viewer, I'm sorry, but they're gonna go to another video. The vlogging area of YouTube is one that is well practice. If it's not up there with the standard of the best, it's not going to do well. Just be confident, and maybe write a couple of bullet points so you don't forget what you're talking about. All the best, hope it works out :)

Good vlog consists of person who can talk consistently without mumbling and talking with confidence :)
VLOG you should talk a lot as much as you can! Lighting should be good as well as audio :)

Watch other peoples vlogs and videos, watch how they do it and which bits they keep it and how they edit it. That should give you a solid idea of the how but not the what :)

All of the above is great advice but also be sure to be yourself and have fun with it! Also what I like to do is go back and watch what I edited together and make sure that I like it and it entertains me. If it doesn't hold my attention how can I expect it to hold other people's attention? Just my 2 cents lol :P
