How to Know When to Quit?

Hey all! I've been working on my YouTube channel for a while and I've been feeling pretty down on it later. I did really well initially but it's really slowed down despite me becoming more consistent and trying to do SEO better.

My question is.. how do I know when it's just not working and I should give up? I really like making my videos but it's definitely painful when I work so hard and have little to show for it. My content is (mostly silly) reviews of older games so I'm hardly on the bleeding edge but I kind of hoped I'd hook in more of that niche audience that enjoys these sorts of things.

Just kind of at a loss at the moment, I suppose.

If you really enjoy creating videos then why would you quit? YouTube is such a weird place where some videos will do amazingly well and they could be of the lowest quality.. You've just gotta keep plodding a long if you DO really love creating videos. Maybe slow down and take a bit longer to create your regular content see it as a little "break"

Its simple! if you are feeling stressed and not enjoying the content you are creating it means you are doing it with the wrong focus!... only do stuff you love, PERIOD! re focus on what you really want and youll be good!!!

Exactly :)

I do like to do it but when I'm not reaching anyone then it becomes a bit of a waste of time and energy, especially since I'm very limited in that. I guess most of the fun comes from connecting to others and when that isn't happening.. well.. meh

If that is how you feel it is a totally different problem. You cannot expect to connect with people or think that people automatically find your videos interesting. But again that is not the same as you not enjoying making videos;)

Adding to that, I would say that if you feel like this, maybe take a break for a while!

Well then keep at it!!! its only one of those many downs in a youtubers life!!! it will explode with consistency

Consistency doesn't mean anything if people don't like it. My point is that how do I know it's not connecting, not working and I should stop?

This isn't about hating my content, I like my videos but if other people don't then there's little point uploading them.
