how to increase number monetized playbacks

I'm getting about 150 monetized out of 1000 views this month, and its really low I dont understand it. 25 cents per 1000 views is really rock bottom for me.

Well part of the problem is addblocker for sure! youtube pointed out that 60% of the viewers is using addblocker and therefore skipping the add! you wont earn money for each add skipped this way... so thats at least a little bit of a explanation!

Could you track down the source for this? 60% is highly suspect given the sheer number of computer illiterate people online.

I decided to do some research on my own videos to try and figure out why some videos have a really low monetized playback rate and why others are really high. So I went through about 50 of the last videos I did and the main thing I noticed for videos with a low monetized playback rate were ones with a lot of non-computer views, these videos had about a 70% tablet and mobile device playback rate and only about 30% computer playback rate and were making about 50 cents per 1000 views.

The videos that had the highest rate of monetized playbacks were ones that had high computer views maybe around 50% to 60% and very little mobile and tablet views. The videos with a lot of computer views made a lot more, I had one video that only had 600 views but I made $4 on it because it had a lot of computer views another video I had that had a lot of computer views made $13 and it only had 1100 views. What this says is that computer views are much more valuable that all other device views.

I suggest you look through your videos and see if you find the same thing.
Mobile & Tablet Views = Less Monetized Playbacks & Less Money.
Computer Views = More Monetized Playbacks & More Money!

I am now going to only make videos similar to those that in the past have received a majority of computer views, because the ones with the mobile & tablet views just don't make enough money. If I have a pretty high budget that I spend on a video and am only going to get 50 cents for every 1000 views then I will start losing money and won't be able to afford to make youtube videos anymore, I like to at least break even on what I spend making a video.

But really it's all a lost cause, computer views are going to keep going down every month as mobile devices and tablets become the norm of how people surf the web. So unless youtube figures out how to truly monetize these devices all youtube partners will be left in the dust.

If I am wrong on any of this please let me know. I am running around in circles trying to figure this out. There are really no answers on this out there and I think it's a pretty major problem facing partners and issue has yet to be addressed by youtube.

You're entirely correct. The issue with mobile views having a low monetized rate is because advertisers don't yet value ads on mobile platforms. There is a belief that ads on mobile just don't have the impact, so the advertisers focus on decktop and other non-mobile ads.

And that's the problem, certain types of videos are watched more on mobile platforms than on a computer, so the trick at least for now would be to find out which types of videos get a majority of computer views.

Lets say you make two videos on two different niches, the first has 30,000 views with 15% of those being monetized views and overall 70% of the views have com from mobile devices/tables and 30% from computers and you've made a total of $19 from that video. The second video you make also has 30,000 views with with 40% of those being monetized views and overall 60% of the views have come from computers and 40% from mobile devices/tablets and you have made $63 from this video. Looking at these stats, which niche would you select for your next video the one that made $19 from 30,000 views or the one that made $63 also from 30,000 views?

For me it drives me crazy how two videos with the same amount of views and one of them makes tons of money while the other barely makes any at all. But it all comes down to which video has the most computer views that is the one that will always make the most money.
