"How to get subscribers!".....BS

Sorry guys, this is a rant and I just want to spit it out.

I'm sick of seeing people and videos saying stuff like "The secret ways of getting subscribers is to have HD Thumbnails, interaction with your audience, and a quality video!"

What if you have HD thumbnails, quality videos, but no audience to interact with?

This is starting to really annoy me. There should be real ways to get active subscribers without crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.
 
Well, I mean, that really IS all you need. You need something to grab attention (good title and thumbnail), and then you need something to keep the person and have them subscribe (a quality and ORIGINAL video).

As for interaction, you obviously can't interact with nobody. So what most people mean is interact with the Youtube COMMUNITY. Go make some friends, comment on videos WITHOUT spamming or saying "check out my channel". Just interact with people and they might subscribe.

But really, not to discredit what you said, but those three things really ARE the key to getting subscribers...

Interact with people that are close to your count would be key in this aspect to be more specific. There is no actual "Key" to growing on youtube. To keep it real for a minute most of what you said in this post are just the standard, its also a matter of patience, trying new stuff with the channel, and getting out of your comfort zone. Not to mention if YouTube were easy everyone would do it. But just to relate it's understandably annoying to hear big channels saying that "its easy because I did it" which is not true hence my previous point. Remember growth takes time.

^This. I started out over two years ago. Now I got 1.6K subscribers. Might not sound like a lot, but I am more than happy with it. It's the best hobby I have ever had. So what I don't have the X factor. I am having a blast. 1.6K or 100K, it wouldn't change my channel one bit I reckon. Well, perhaps buy some more stuff to film and create with, but other than that... Still the same guy, although I wouldn't be able to reply to each and every person like I attempt to do now.
 
I definitely know how you feel, bud. It's been a little over a year for me and I'm so close to hitting 100 subs. It really does take a lot of time and patience. Having good thumbnails to grab attention and good quality content to keep attention is definitely key. And yes, if you don't have many people to interact with on your channel, then it is best to venture out and interact with other YouTubers. This is a great place to make friends to help each other grow and I know there are plenty of other YouTube communities. I know Facebook has a ton of YouTube groups that you can look at. :)
