How to get sponsorship?

PinProject

I Love YTtalk
How can you get companies to sponsor you? Is there a specific website you can apply to and get in contact with to be able to sponsor specific products?
Also do you know a specific amount of subscribers, viewers to be able to do sponsorship videos?

I know that sponsorships will usually contact you. But if you don't have a huge following you can sign up for sites such as famebit to get sponsors. But for such sights you need a minimum of 1k subs.

The forum has ads for the site FameBit. I've never used it myself but it seems like a good place to get sponsorships. I think it does have requirements but I'm not completely sure what they are.

oh ok that's good to know. I guess I need to make that my new goal of getting 1k! Thanks![DOUBLEPOST=1423511027,1423510893][/DOUBLEPOST]

I just went on their site and it says you need a minimum of 1k subscribers[DOUBLEPOST=1423511191][/DOUBLEPOST]I wonder if there are sites that prefer views over subscribers. that would make more sense.

Oh i didn't know something like this existed, but good to know, although I only have 9 subs :)))

Btw do any of you have had an experience when a sponsor contacted you? :§§§

I doubt it. Views are just views and they aren't consistent and don't translate into money for the sponsor. For example, if you have a viral video with 1,000,000 views but only 500 subs so you get 100 views a video. A sub count, while not always reliable, is a lot more reliable than views. But I understand what you mean. They're are plenty of 1k youtubers that get like 100 views per video and a 500 sub youtuber that gets 200. The system won't be perfect.

Not me. I'm not popular enough, sadly. But any of the 100k+ youtubers will definitely know about that.

You could try and approaching a company or what not to ask for sponsorship but they normally approach you instead as I would think that some companies get lots of people asking about sponsorship.

@derraleves and @Tim Schmoyer (who have YouTube advice channels) have both made a few videos about sponsorships, including finding the right match, making a good pitch, etc. Several of the videos relate to Famebit, but Derral once recommended that a creator contact a company directly. My channel is still to small to think about sponsors, but I do have a plan of reaching out to a particular sponsor that will be a great fir for my channel when the time is right.

If you add a message about your sponsor to a video, do YouTube still allow you to monetise the video??
I thought it couldnt be monetised if its being sponsored elsewhere??

Thanks for the advice I'll make sure to check their videos out! :)
