How To Get Into Suggested Videos Sidebar (Is there a sandbox?)

No I mean for instance people are watching a comedy video and along the sidebar there are suggested comedy videos related to the one being watched and also fill the screen at the end.
My stats show I get only a minute amount of these views. An older video of mine years ago only got onto the related videos after it reached around 400,000 views all from a youtube search of keywords. How do you get your videos into the mix so they appear in the sidebar and at the end of the related video. Of course, if someone watches my own video then the sidebar may contain a few more of my videos. But not for other peoples videos???

I really think that good tagging, a relevant title, total watch time (people watching the whole video instead of bailing), total amount of views and the time it took to get those views plays a big part in it. They have an algorithm that determines all that stuff. Google/Youtube suggest relevant and thorough tagging all the time in blog posts.

Those videos at the end of a video are the first few in the suggested videos to the right. So get in there, get on there too.

It depends on what you watch on YouTube. It will look for similar videos and put them there. Is that what your talking about? The videos on the far right of your youtube homepage?

Nah, I don't believe they do.

Oh I know that one! Those only show videos that are actually related to the video you just watched before. So I guess if you watch a video about football you would wanna make your video about football or have a similar title.

having an optimized title, description and tags will help your search rankings therefore boosting chances of being in the "sidebar".

Assuming you have a properly titled and tagged video, you will be more likely to appear in the suggested videos if your video has lots of total views, or has had a recent burst of views.
