How to get commentary in time with video

SamaJaffa

Just some E[PIC]nglish guy
I'm going to be doing a playthrough soon but I want to know how I can get my commentary in time with what's happening in the video. Is there any quick way other than just lining it up with the video and keep testing if it sounds right? Thanks :)

Why not do the commentary live as you play? I use Fraps to do that and it works fine. I always think that commentary recorded afterwards feels very scripted and fake.

That's what I mean. I do live commentaries but I want them to be accurate and in time with the video. I don't like it when it's slightly late. Also, why should I use fraps? Isn't that for recording your PC? I record on my xbox

Ah I see, my bad. :P So you record the video and your commentary separately? In that case you could start every session with a sync event. Like when playing a shooter you could fire a few rounds while saying 'shoot' 'shoot' 'shoot' at the exact moment you pull the trigger. Then it's just a matter of syncing up those two and the rest of the video should also by synced as long as you don't stop recording either one.

That's what I normally do haha. I guess I'll stick with that but try to make it more in time when I line up both the commentary and the video :) Thanks

What I do is let my pvr record for 30secs then on the 30th second I start recording my audio. If you have a look at my videos on 'dishonored' you'll see it syncs up beautifully :)
