Download a program called Audiacity and remove background noise and bass boost.
That will work most of the time. I have to do that when I am recording commentary on the green screen farther back from my computer. I have yet to find an "affordable" lapel mic with the same quality as my Blue Snowball. I tried one of the less expensive ones and it was very tinny sounding. Not quite ready to shell out big bucks for a lavalier mic. If post-processing doesn't help it may be your mic. If you can get close enough to a good mic the echo should resolve itself.
