How to Film With Noisy Roommates

Maybe practice what you are going to say enough times that you don't have to ask them to be quiet for 20 minutes (and more like 5?)

Other than asking them to be a little bit more quiet for a little bit, the only other thing I could think of is investing in a better audio setup. I have a Zoom H1 and that seems to work well for just picking up my voice, but then again I can get a bit of quiet just be asking, so I am pretty lucky.

Throw a tea party for them sort of like an intervention, tea can calm people down, and just ask them again politely to be as quiet as possible then wait for them to all die from the poison you placed in the tea prior, a dead roommate is a quiet roommate.

Hmm, some solid advice from everyone. I'll have to weigh my options on mics for now, but I have talked to my roommates about it and they seem understanding. It still might be easier to try and film while I'm alone though if at all possible! : )

I never had any noise problems, there was this one time that I put my mattress against my door as a test but I don't know if it helped.
I recorded a video a few days ago in my living room but someone kept walking in because of their laptop so I put the laptop in the hallway and barricaded the door with chairs and tape lol
There are also audio editing programs where you can remove background noise. It worked for some of my videos that were recorded outside.

Just tell them to be quiet, maybe you could even ask if they want to get involved in your videos if they will be able to fit into your style. Doing videos when they are gone will be your best bet if they want to be quiet or join in.
