How to be different????

Rachael

I Love YTtalk
So iiSuperwomanii is a really big inspiration in my life, and I've had a few people tell me that I am a lot like her in my videos. Of course I agree with them, because I notice it too, but I am just being myself. I guess because I look up to her so much and watch all her videos that I started acting a bit like her... anyway, I am trying to have my own personality. Do you guys have any tips???

I had people tell me the same thing with my inspiration, Tyler Oakley. I don't think it necessarily is a bad thing to be compared to another YouTuber. There aren't many changes that you could make in my opinion. Thought I had an actual response to your question, but now I need help too. Damn.

Well yeah I also noticed some of SUPERWOMAN features in you, but I guess you're still unique and you are not 100% like her!
There are no tips, I would just say, you're on the RIGHT TRACK! KEEP IT UP!
PEACE

Just let the pride roll never pushing it down. Not that I'm the most original person or channel, but I can honestly say I go out of my way not to watch content of the material I post on to make sure it's not influenced by other creators, but only the other gamers and those I interact with. It didn't start that way, and whether or not I will keep the new found interest in posting often again will stay, but pride is the key factor for me personally in what I believe keeps me original in a lot of the content.

That pride is also the reason I posted only 4 videos in December aka the money month. I am dead set on only posting when it's fun, so that's another avenue the same "flaw" cause it is one in many, many cases, turns into a beneficial attribute.

Yeah the best way to be different is to just be yourself! Because everyone is different! No one can change you, it's the choices you make and it's what you do that makes you different and just because you are like someone or very similar doesn't mean you are not different because you still are! You are just admiring someone for how different they are :)

I agree that being you is the best way to be different. Even when I do a topic that others have done, I like to think I have my own take on it. I also think it is a great compliment if someone compares you to another YouTuber because if the person making the compliment thought you were imitating the YouTuber, you would not get the compliment at all. It's just that some quality you have brings to mind a similar quality in the YouTuber. As an example of that, one of the best compliments I ever got was when someone compared me to Michael Buckley. I think he is a genius, and I can't even pretend do what he does, plus my content doesn't really touch pop culture. I don't see the comparison, but I guess something about my take on things resonated with that viewer as somehow similar to Michael Buckley.

Oh, btw, I get the Superwoman thing. You do have that quality, but you are definitely unique!

Personality is unique - unless you're acting out a character? The only thing different in my real life than my online persona is you see me more often in the flesh and nobody calls me Cynical, Chin, Chilli or CynicalChinchilla!

Keep it real! ;)
