How to be a Jedi in a world full of clones (originality)

I've Got It
If you stopped on this thread, you either are a fan of Star Wars, like me, or you are just interested in the content. That being: originality is a difficult thing to come by on YouTube now days. So how do you do it?
Honestly it's quite impossible to be completely original. There are billions of videos on YouTube and most of those are not very original.

What you need to remember is someone out there has probably had the same idea as you. It's ok if you post videos that have been posted millions of times, but you need to make it yours. Put your touch on it, bring your style to it. Give it a new name, so to speak. There are 7 + billion people on the earth but there's only 1 you. Your ideas are important.

Great tips, yes i clicked cuz im a star wars fan!! But great tips, im new to this and trying to find my niche once i found it ill make it mine!!!

Well said.

It's very hard to be 100% 'original' and make content a general audience wants to watch. Best we can do is start with something, and keep changing it, evolving it, and adding our own ideas until it's more or less the closest we can come to 'original'.

I think the balance of "things that viewers are familiar enough with to click" and "original content" can be a tricky one. That said, I find all the tags and challenges that go around to be a fairly lazy way to create content (though I do like a lot of the creators who make them and will watch them if it happens to be in your feed). I think coming up with new ideas can be a real bear, and so having something to fall back on can be really helpful, but I think there's a definite over-reliance on whatever happens to be trending at the moment.

Finding your own voice can be hard, but I think it's totally worthwhile. I don't know if it will ever lead to "success" on YouTube (monetarily or otherwise), but since this is something I do out of the love of it and not for any real type of fame or money, I don't mind that my more oddball things are the things that are less viewed.
