How to advertise my channel?

Janzen is right, but I'll expand it a bit more.

When I upload a video I post it everywhere I think is appropriate. I only have 35 subs but I'm getting over a hundred views for most videos. That's not record breaking by any stretch of the imagination but I bet it's way more than if I didn't post my videos in as many places.

So, when I upload a video I post it on:

YTTalk - I spend so much of my time here and it's a great way to gain support and meet other youtubers with similar interests who will like your videos.

Twitter: I automatically tweet out my video when it gets uploaded.

Facebook: Make a Facebook page and post your stuff there, or post the video from your own account. Personally I wanted a separate page that viewers could follow.

Reddit: This is an awesome place to post your videos but don't expect to post and run. You need to put the time in, just like this forum. There's many subbreddits for youtubers and gamers where your videos can find a home. Half of my views come from reddit.

Steam: You can post your stuff on the Steam Community pages easily by linking your Youtube account with your Steam account. Every video (as long as it's game is on Steam) will be automatically linked to that game's page.

Also, as my channel focuses on indie games I post the video on the game's pages on IndieDB and Game Jolt.

BUT, before you promote your videos and channel, I'd make a logo, banner and thumbnails first.

Here's my thought on this:
Use Facebook for your family. As a matter of fact it is only good for your friends and family. Don't try to get a huge following since it is not really meant for business.

Instagram makes a dead end unless you do cooking and music videos.

Google Plus is perfect for the job. Yes, you have to use it. I know you will moan and groan, but I've gain a lot of viewership for it.
