How subs see private-to-public videos

Posting Mad!
Hi guys

So because of the quality when a video is first uploaded and the problems to do with ads not being played for like 24 hours after a video is uploaded I wanted to start uploading videos early as private so nobody could see them but give YouTube time to allow full quality and ads. Then like a day or two later set them as public. My question is, if I have uploaded a video as private say two days earlier and then set it as public will it appear to my subs as being uploaded just then or two days ago?

TIA to anyone who can help :)

I'm pretty sure your subs will see it as uploaded the time when you make it public, and not the time of when you uploaded it.

I did the same a couple of times and when I made the video public, the published date on the description indicates the day it was made public. However in the video history, the videos are still ordered by upload date and on the video manager, the date is still the upload date.

Ahhh thats interesting, thanks for clearing it up for me :)

Works with unlisted too. I had an unlisted video that I made public a couple of months later and the date changed. But if you put it back to unlisted and then public again, the date will always be set to the first time it was made public.

What do you mean by ads not being shown in the first 24 hours? If YT did that it would be ridiculous because that's when most people watch a new video, don't they?

I took that to mean that it takes his videos about a day to be approved for monetization.
