How soon does YT update view count?

I don't get a huge amount of views, but I still like to keep an eye on them from time to time. I was just wondering how soon after someone views a video does the count change? Some days when I've bothered my friends enough to watch my videos the view count remains the same. Other days it randomly changes. I would have thought the count went up immediately after viewing, but perhaps not.

If I go through my videos tab like a subscriber would it can take 2-4 days for me. YouTube Dashboard and the newer studios updates faster but not even these are always the same.

I use YouTube studio app and that seems to have relatively up-to-date stats, but it is worth letting a few days go by as the graphs needs to collect enough data to display properly.
