How much time do you guys spend on editing?

Depends on what you're editing. When i'm adding special effects, colour corrections and stuff then it can take me hours or even days!

It usually take me between 3-12 hours...just depends on what I'm doing. I also have an idea when making the video and then in the editing phase I get more "creative" ideas and that makes editing longer.

I have a few "templates" set up I just have to copy and paste so that shaves about 30 mins off.

On average I'd say 2 hours per minute of video. My videos are mainly images, text and narration. So cleaning up audio, finding appropriate images and animating them, combining it all together, etc takes some time.

My editing is split into 4 points:

1. Drag the several voice over I've recorded in order to figure out which one is the best (I may find none of them are and record another), sync up the PSD files to the voice over.

2. Go through the video once or twice, then add the music.

3. Go through the video and add the sound effects

4. Watch it through and add the zoom ins

5. Preview the video, render it out. I usually go back and edit and render is once more before I get the final product.

It takes me around 20 mins to a day depending on what i'm doing im a noob still so I will probably reduce that time a lot the more I get used to it.

takes me days.. even weeks some times.. but I also do the effects and sound design.. and even make the music as well (not always)

I do multiple videos a day so I'm quite used to editing quick, and I do gaming videos so it's quite quick, It's normally 1 Screen recording and 1 Webcam recording, I put the webcam in the right place, add music if needed then render, normally takes 3-10mins to edit for a simple Let's Play episode.
