How much is too much?

You know the expression "too much of a good thing is bad"? Well my question is, does this apply to youtube as well? Are daily uploads better that 3-4 times a week? or is 1-3 times a week better?
 
Depends on your viewers... if you pump out daily content and your subs don't watch YouTube thinks they are uninterested and stops showing your videos as much to them... if you upload once a week and they are all over it like vampires on a blood hunt then YouTube will show it to them consistently. You need to research how your content is viewed and absorbed to really answer that question.
 
It also depends what kind of channel you are, from what I have observed gaming channels tend to do better with daily posts, the larger ones doing 2 videos daily.

But some channels simply can't upload that fast because of the kind of stuff they do, you can't animate 15 minutes of a show in 1 day, it's just not gonna happen.
 
Daily videos are pretty common and I don't think ruin anyones subscription feed. More than daily however is where it can get annoying. In any case I'd say the pros of daily uploads in terms of exposure and appearing on search results far outweigh the cons
 
I don't mind someone who uploads a lot, but it has to be something interesting. I've unsubscribed from people who seemed to be trying to use a machine-gun approach toward getting views, by posting 3-4 videos per day of whatever they happened to sit down and want to talk about for 5 minutes. Take some time and craft your material, I say.
 
I'm sticking with the daily upload schedule because I think that gaming channels are good with that type of schedule, and also it seems that youtube tends to give a little "hand" to channels that are really consistent (or at least I hope).
But I think that 3 or 4 videos per day are too much, both for you and your subscribers: doing 3 or 4 videos would mean basically use all the 24 hours for recording and editing ( of course depends on the type of your content) but also bombarding people with videos isn't the best option.
In the end try to stick to something you can be able to follow for a long period of time, because I think that always changing your schedule can have a bad repercussion on your visibility in searches.
 
Id say it depends on if the people watching are addicted to your channel and what your doing and want more. I watch a few sailing channels, which upload once a week and I wish they had more.
 
It really depends on your viewer and the type of videos you make. I would say gamers and vloggers should get as close to daily uploads as possible...where as animators will take a lot of time.
All in all, what ever is best for you is the right thing, quality is just as important as quantity.
 
Depends on the content that you are producing in my opinion. For the majority of channels starting out though, one upload a day is still a bit much since people would be less inclined to watch them and you'd just be wasting your resources
