How much can a smaller channel actually earn?

It's legit information found on the internet, not sure what would be lies about it... Also, I've seen multiple things about 1000 views equals around 2$, which would make 1 million views be 2k $.

I have to agree with them tho, that this isn't necesairily true. Youtube only cares about the money they make, not what you make. There're algorithms and stuff involved in deciding how much you are earning, but I've seen people who have a million views on one of their vidoes earn a thousand dollars. No kidding. So I am not spreading rumors or lies around this forum, I am just telling what I know about that. And for you; Please learn how to write English: Every I should be capitalized, learn to use Capitals anyway because your post doesn't make any sense without them ;) Also learn English Grammar please, I didn't understand half your post the first time I read it.

no it does not, watch the video and learn. stop making up lies on the forums people need to learn the real truth. i put the video to be in 21:00 where the talk about youtubers starts so you only need to watch until you dont want to watch it.

From my own experience; sojo is pretty close to the facts. Now, you have to realise that 1 million views from a western country can yield 2 - 10 times more than the same amount of views from a developing country.

That said, it's not uncommon to assume that 1 million views ~ $1k for the average channel

So the point is that it´s different depending on where you are.
anyone who has a video with 1mil views, who like to share how much they earned from it?

Well without a network selling ads on your channel your CPM will be very low just using AdSense on youtube. With a network you can expect $1-$12 per thousand views (CPM) but then of course they take a cut and there are taxes. It depends on the time of year, for example December is a super high paying month for youtubers because a lot more companies are offering money for ad space since Christmas is right around the corner. Whereas in June, for example, there's no special holidays or anything so not as many companies are offering money for ads. Directly from adsense on youtube you can expect a LOT less than with a network. I think it's just a dollar flat CPM then of course taxes and google's cut.

Your channel specifically gets a decent amount of views, as of now you'd probably get about a dollar or so a video. I'm not an expert FYI I've just heard a lot of youtubers talk about their CPMs and networks and stuff.

I've had a few viral videos, none as viral as the BIG guys, but earnings are definitely a lot lower than people realise.
If you go to sits like SocialBlade for instance, they estimate my channel earns between £134 - £1.1K per month. The reality? somewhere near the very bottom of that estimate, and on other sites its actually lower than their lowest estimate.

It all depends on your audience, your content, which ads are playing and how they relate to your audience and content, what time of year, time of day, how it goes viral, etc.

it is generally a lot lower than expected. But I recommend posting it! Short films are one of the toughest catagories to snag a viral video on, but original work is great to see regardless.

.

Sorry to say but "In case anyone was wondering about those social blade estimates. They really aren't something that I would base any sort of accurate earning calculation off of".[DOUBLEPOST=1421413606,1421410888][/DOUBLEPOST]

I couldn't agree more.

That is total garbage.

You can definitely make double digit CPM with Adsense.

All networks do is take your money.

I agree and can confirm. Adsense can and does provide very good CPM and RPM and without the cut.
