How Much A Big Channel Makes..

Hey guys,
I own a fairly large channel. My subs are a bit over 400,000. For the last 2 years, I've been signed under a fixed cpm however my contract was recently changed to a percentage deal with Machinima. Supposedly I'm getting a 95/5% split revenue (I get 95%) which I thought sounded fantastic. I produce very high quality content (along the style of say like "Freddie W") and I put much of my money back into video production costs.
In the last month, I've received over 5.5 million views. I was paid by Machinima about $4000. Does this sound like a good cpm?
I'm pretty disappointed as I was making more with the fixed cpm. I've tried asking other big youtubers but everyone is so hush-hush about what they make. I'm not sure if I'm getting ripped off or I'm being too greedy. lol

You're right about making more with the fixed cpm. It sounds like you're being ripped off, sorry.

Side note: Feel free to make an introduction thread too. :)

Yeah, that's true lol I'm just hoping someone could let me kno

Thanks :)
Looks like my playback cpm is $4.30

That's really low. So it's around about $2.00 after Machinima's 5% and Google's of around 50% - that's not good specially for a channel of your size. I hope you're not locked into your contract.

^^^ That is really low. You look like you have a great channel, at least by the stats, so you should shop around for a better network or thrive on your own if you can. Good luck :)

I agree with Gabriel, at 5m views it should be over $10,000 with a good network.

Please tell us from which countries you have most visitors, that would also help to determine if its bad or not what you are getting.
Without knowing some specific stats hard to say, but as i understand, being partnered directly with Youtube you would get 4000$ + 5% so that means Adsense on your channel pays you a bit low for some reason - it may be because of your visitors countries, also depends on how many monetizeable playbacks you have from your total 5 million views.

Another thing - why Machinima switched their fixed CPM to share based? Was it for your channel only or they switched to share based contract for everyone?
If Machinima swithced to share based contract for your channel only, probably means ads on your videos were making less amount that they were paying you flat CPM.

A good network can be helpfull by selling premium ads on your channel though.
