How many views per month is enough?

I've Got It
My question is how many views is enough to make a decent living on in one month. I'm just trying to decide if I were to get popular what is the amount of subs and views I should have before I even think about doing it?

It depends on a lot of things like, how much you need to make per month to survive, how many people click on your ads etc.

Go on Google and type in "YouTube Revenue Calculator" then you will see a rough estimate on how much you can make on a certain amount of views.

Look at the youtuber called vexxed latest video talking about how much he makes on YouTube. he goes over all of his analytics and doesn't hide anything like every other youtuber does. he made $5000 in a month off of two million views. In my case with stats like that, living off of 500,000 views a month would probably be doable

You can check the earnings of every single YouTube channel by using "socialblade.com" including the top famous channels. Also, you can compare their subscribers/ views figures with how much they earn from youtube in order to get rough idea of how YouTube works as business.

It all really depends where you live at. If you live in a place like Manhattan you're gonna need a crap ton of monthly views. So it really depends where you live but for the average person 500,000 - 2m per month.

Are you married with 3 kids, house mortgage, car loans and uni loans? Or do you live with your parents all expenses paid? The former probably 10M views a month, the latter 1M should be enough.

I'd be happy with even 100k views per month, if people actually allowed ads and it was making revenue, but since adblock is so common odds are need many, many.... many views to be able to live off youtube.

It seems to be 1 to 5 dollar per 1.000 views, depending on what your video's are about and where you and your viewers live.

Figuring very conservatively at $1 per 1,000 views and most people can squeak by at $1,000 a month (not really) for basic rent and utilities etc. you would bare minimum need consistent 1 million monthly views. Considering your videos average 100 views at best average you have a long road ahead if all you want is popularity.
