Hey guys,

So I'm back on YouTube after a 4 year hiatus and I'm trying to figure out what would be a good amount of videos to upload each week.My goal is to grow my subscriber list as much as possible. I don't want to make crummy videos for the sake of putting out a lot of vids but at the same time I don't want to only do 1 video a week either.

I also noticed that the activity on my channel seems to greatly improve each time I post videos plus there seems to be new subscribers as well... Does anyone have any suggestions on what works for them?

Thanks!! :D

It depends on what your content is but if you have good solid ideas and they work film it but only upload 4 videos a week and never more, anymore extra videos that you end up filming that week keep them for the next, make sure to have some kind of backlog incase something comes up and you cant film, (like with me my PC leaked for the second time and I've been away for two weeks because of work) it still give you content to upload so you can stay consistent.

Although if your content works better after a few days planning and a few days recording stick to one a week so the quality isn't affected

This is great advice! And you touched on a major issue with my production strategy right now - I really don't have a backup of videos just waiting to be uploaded :S... Thanks so much for your advice. I've heard this tidbit a lot but for some reason, hearing it again just now has pushed me into high gear!

Like people have said before, it depends on the type of content you are creating. I'm doing daily vlogs because it encourages me to do things, like today when I went on a climbing wall, and it also helps me improve my filming and editing skills.

The longer the videos and the more editing you plan on doing, the less often you should post.

As others have said, usually depends on the content you produce! I'm sticking with two-three videos a week as I'm trying to aim for comedy but that requires script writing and editing, however if you're aiming more for vlogs and stuff like that I find that many creators post more!

If you don't want to do one video per week, then I would suggest doing two. You want to spend time making quality videos and not slapping together a video just for the sake of uploading. (Trust me, with the amount of time I have, that's basically what I'm doing and it's not exactly giving me more subs. Summer can't get here fast enough!)

I think the best upload schedule is one that you can stick to. Nothing bugs people more than expecting content from you on a certain day and not getting it. So find a balance that won't leave you scrambling to make videos at the last minute, or cause you to burn out so quickly that you'll take another hiatus.

This is such excellent advice! Thank you for sharing what has been working for you! I started vlogging recently as well and I must say, it is really easy to produce this type of content.. Perhaps I'll use these vlogs as gateway material..[DOUBLEPOST=1462547974,1462547909][/DOUBLEPOST]

That's really interesting! Have you noticed more engagement/subscribers from posting more quality videos instead of quantity ?[DOUBLEPOST=1462548038][/DOUBLEPOST]

Excellent point! The common thread seems to be having a backup supply. It will take a lot of work at the beginning to do this but based on everyone's responses, I'm sure the payoff will be more than amazing in the end! :)
