How many times do you watch your videos before rendering it?

I've Got It
You know, like, when you're editing it.

I usually watch and replay my videos hundreds of time, editing the video while I'm doing so until I get it right. Then I do test render to see how it's like in full-screen, then edit it again until I got it perfectly right.

How about you guys?

I watch the footage and start cutting right away. Then I watch it again and cut some more. Then a final time for a final cut. Render it and watch it one more time and then it gets uploaded. So yeah, I watch it a fair amount of time.

This confirmed my prejudice that we YouTubers are all basically a perfectionist freak when it comes to our videos :p

In a good way!
Yeah defiantly! It gets to the point where I have to stop myself editing otherwise nothing would ever get done. Then there's the thumbnails...

Not that much. Im watching parts as i edit, looking for spots to cut and tape together. Takes like one or two watches per clip. If the clip is long i will jump jump jump forward a few seconds to save time. 90% of the time i will do one full run through afterwards to catch any big problems.

The fact that at least one of us in this thread is a normal person gives me some hope in humanity :D

I use to watch it dozens of times over and over making like little minute changes on the background music volume until it would always give me an anxiety attack haha. Nowadays I just edit as I go, watch it maybe once or twice over and then launch the bad boy. I find that the perfectionism that I had didn't actually improve the quality of my videos that much but instead detracted from my lifestyle and video performance in the middle-long run. Nowadays I just trust my instincts!

I do the multi-checks before I finish rendering. I watch the video once it's done rendering to see if it's good. I typically just watch it once. I'll be honest and say that I'm usually not willing to watch a fifteen minute video three times when I finish rendering, rather than making sure it's good before I finish.
